THE 5 VILLAGES YOU MUST NOT MISS WHEN YOU RENT AN APARTMENT IN ROSES

THE 5 VILLAGES YOU MUST NOT MISS WHEN YOU RENT AN APARTMENT IN ROSES

Renting an apartment in Roses is an excellent choice: beaches, history, hiking trails and gastronomy at your fingertips.
But we’re sure you will want to make the most out of your holidays in the Costa Brava and discover other great spots around Roses. Don't you know where to start? We’ve got you covered:
· Cadaqués
The town of Salvador Dalí had to be on this list so why not start with it. Because visiting the Costa Brava and not spending some time in Cadaqués is unforgivable.
Go for a walk at the Cap de Creus Natural Park, stroll through the nature reserve of Tudela and, of course, visit Dalí’s House in Portlligat. Remember to book in advance!
· Port de la Selva
Following the winding road of Cadaqués, you will arrive at Port de la Selva. A small fishing village with a postcard view and exceptionally welcoming.
Its promenade is beautiful and, if you feel like going for a quiet swim, go to the Sarnella Lighthouse or walk along the GR-92 towards Cala Tamariua.
· Llançà
We’ll keep going and our next stop will be in Llançà.
At dusk you can go up to the Castellar and see the lights of the entire Mar d'Amunt and, if you fancy an unforgettably tasty experience, book a table at the Miramar Restaurant. Paco Pérez is the Catalan chef with the most Michelin stars (he’s got 6 of them!) and Miramar, with its 2 Michelin stars, is his first gastronomic house.
· Castelló d'Empúries
But let's go inland and, just 10 km from Roses, we’ll find the architectural art and history of Castelló d'Empúries.
The Basilica of Santa Maria is also known as the "Empordà Cathedral" for a reason. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries, it is one of the great examples of Catalan Gothic art.
· Sant Martí d’Empúries
And from Castelló d'Empúries we will go south and head to l’Escala. But before getting there, we will stop at Sant Martí d’Empúries. That’s where the first Greek settlers arrived in the 6th century BC and, 200 m from the small (but charming) village of Sant Martí, we can visit the most important Greco-Roman site in Catalonia: the archaeological site of Empúries. With plenty of ideas on your notebook, you can start planning your holidays to Roses. And, if you need any further help, remember we’re here to help.
